As a clinical psychologist I provide psychotherapy services to individuals and groups in the Portland metropolitan area. Therapy can be a powerful tool in the change process, and I see it as a collaborative effort between client and therapist. Therapy can lead to increased awareness about past and present patterns that may be limiting us or creating problems in our lives. Working together we can increase coping, self-esteem and self-awareness, and life satisfaction.

My approach utilizes a cognitive-behavioral perspective, as well as body-based techniques proven by research to be effective. Sessions often include practices dedicated to mindful awareness, the ability to be present in this moment. In addition, we’ll use tools to examine the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that cause distress. Therapy may also utilize techniques such as assertiveness training, stress reduction techniques, EMDR, and other tools that support positive change.
